We Make Governor Palin Mad

The other day, Alaska Governor and one-time running mate Sarah Palin said that she was annoyed by bloggers, and wondered when accepting blogs as news sources was acceptable.

Understand this, Governor Palin. Most bloggers write things about you, especially opinion pieces, because they know how annoyed you get about them. President-Elect Obama, when hit with some of the worst allegations I've ever seen during a presidental election, shrugged off the reports, making him seem more...let me think...presidental. You, Governor Palin, have before the election and in the days since, shown us that you don't know how to control your temper and allow what people say about you to effect you in such a manor that it makes us question your decision making.

Governor Palin also was upset about news sources and bloggers for mocking her when she said that she could see Russia from parts of Alaska, saying "You really can!" That wasn't what we were mocking about Governor Palin, however. What she fails to address is the fact that she USED the fact that she can see Russia from parts of Alaska as a reason why she's qualified to talk about foreign policy and run for vice-president. No one is doubting that you can see Russia from Alaska...we're doubting the fact that Sarah Palin is eligable to be vice-president because of that fact.

The GOP has been going through a period of wondering what direction they should go in as a party. If they want an electorial failure in four years, they should nominate Sarah Palin. For as much of a "maverick" as she likes to think she is, it's clear that she represents the "business as usual" attitude within the Republican Party.
